Player registrations — how BOWLMINE tracks your tournament entries

BOWLMINE automatically picks up tournament entry data from external sources and matches it with playerprofiles. Here is how that works — and what changes when you create an account.

How does BOWLMINE know about my tournament entries?

Tournament organizers publish their entry lists through their own systems. BOWLMINE reads those lists regularly, extracts player names and round dates, and adds them to the player profiles it maintains. This process is fully automatic — you do not register for a tournament through BOWLMINE itself; BOWLMINE simply reflects what the organizer's system already shows.

How do I sign up for a tournament?

Find an event on the Events page and open its detail. Select the round you want to enter and fill in the sign-up form — your first name, last name, phone number, and email address. You will receive a confirmation to the email you provide.

You do not need a BOWLMINE account to sign up. An account gives you an overview of all your entries in one place and a personal calendar — see below.

What can I see as a visitor without an account?

Any visitor can browse upcoming events on the Events page, look up a specific player by name, and see which tournaments that player is entered for.

You can also subscribe to a public player calendar: a link (ICS file) that displays the player's next upcoming tournament rounds in any calendar app — Google Calendar, Outlook, Apple Calendar, and others. The calendar is based on the player's name as it appears in tournament data and always shows the three closest upcoming events.

What does a BOWLMINE account add?

When you register on BOWLMINE and set your first and last name, the system automatically links your name to tournament entries as they appear in the data.

Your My entries page shows all upcoming rounds with their current status — registered, substitute, or waiting for confirmation.

You also receive a personal calendar link tied to your account rather than to a name string. This link can be imported into any calendar app and remains stable regardless of how your name appears in different tournament systems.

Your new registrations appear in your social feed, so your connections can see which tournaments you are headed to.

What is the difference between the public and the personal calendar?

The public calendar (name-based) is generated from a single player name and shows the three closest upcoming events. Anyone who knows the link can subscribe to it.

The personal calendar (account-based) is tied to your BOWLMINE account. It shows more events — up to three on a free account, up to ten on a premium account. It also combines registrations from all your aliases (see below), and it excludes any entries you have dismissed as not belonging to you.

What are aliases?

If your name appears differently across different tournament systems — for example under a nickname, with or without diacritics, or under a maiden name — you can add aliases to your account. Each alias is a separate first-name / last-name pair that BOWLMINE will also watch for when scanning tournament data.

A free account supports one alias. A premium account supports up to five.

What if BOWLMINE shows me registered for a tournament I did not enter?

This can happen if another bowler shares your name. On your My entries page you can dismiss any entry that does not belong to you. Dismissed entries are moved to a separate list and excluded from your personal calendar. You can undo a dismissal at any time.
